Playing club soccer

Playing club soccer or “select” soccer requires a different level of commitment from the player and the parents. Players must try out to make a club team and they are committed to that team for a year. Club teams have paid coaches and travel farther distances for league games and tournaments. They train more often, as well. Costs vary by club, but are several times the cost of playing in a recreational league. Scholarships for players needing financial assistance are available.

Why go the extra expense? Stronger competition and better training.

If you think your child might play soccer in high school, they’ll be going up against a lot of club trained players to make the team and to win a game.

There are a number of clubs in Central Kentucky.
