For the second year in a row, CR7, a team of U12 players from Lexington sponsored by Tower Hill Sports, has gone down to Orlando and won Disney 3v3 Soccer Championships at the Walt Disney Wide World of Sports.

Lawson Shrensker, James Clay, Sam Shapiro, Jose Flores, Josh Guillen, and Drew Ballesteros played teams from Virginia, Florida, Indiana, New Jersey, and won in the finals against a team from New York City over the holiday weekend ending Monday.

Last year, they won the same event in the U11 division.

Coached by Michelle Rayner, a Lexington FC and former Kentucky women’s coach who is also general manager of the new Tower Hill Sports complex at 3025 Blake James Drive in Lexington, the team advanced through several rounds of qualifying matches throughout the year to qualify for the Orlando event.

Videos shared with WLEX show a couple of the team’s scores.
